Customer Operations Senior Manager


The Role:

AMD is searching for a strong Operations leader to spearhead a team responsible for operations between AMD and its customers.   This includes building strong and sustaining relationships at operational, managerial, and executive levels within AMD and the Customer’s organization, and leveraging these relationships to manage escalations and drive process improvement internally and externally.  He or she will also provide strategic direction, set policies, develop employees, and measure and improve team performance.  Ultimately, this person will create action plans to achieve organizational goals that are strategic in nature and align with financial goals.


The Person:

The ideal person will be a data driven decision maker, process oriented, and possess the ability to drive global, cross functions teams.  A strong desire to mentor others, and the ability to tailor management style to influence global team members in various circumstances is critical to success.  


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer facing team which is responsible for all operational aspects between AMD and its customer
  • Identify and manage key internal and external strategic relationships at multiple levels of management to ensure business continuity
  • Promote and facilitate business opportunity for AMD and its customer to maximize AMD opportunities
  • Develop self and team, providing the tools and training to achieve goals, support career planning, and to enhance the organizations capability
  • Develop functional strategy and provide leadership in the implementation of new processes in support of the strategy
  • Support revenue attainment by identifying supply risks and business opportunities
  • Guide team through developing and managing key process indicators to reduce costs and improve service levels
  • Engage with customers through quarterly business reviews and operational meetings
  • Coach others to work successfully in an ambiguous environment; Articulate AMD's longer-term business environment and resulting strategy
  • Create action plans and keep team focused on meeting organizational mission and goals
  • Build consensus across organization at executive management levels
  • Create policy and processes that are impactful to the organization and AMD
  • Establish organizational compliance and control standards to ensure staff follow business practices
  • Coach other managers on maximizing effectiveness, organization development, and process improvement


Preferred Experience/Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree and related industry experience
  • Experience in a managerial role; including managing remote employees 
  • Proven track record of resource management and developing team members
  • Operational experience; High tech fulfillment and customer order management a strong plus
  • Understanding of supply chain operations and optimization techniques
  • Logistics and network analytics
  • Executive communication experience
