Description

Operations Senior Manager who can lead a team responsible for operations between AMD and its customers.  They create value by building strong and sustaining relationships at operational, managerial, and executive levels within Suppliers, Customers and AMD’s organization.  The Operations Senior Manager leverages these relationships to manage and contain escalations, and drive process improvement internally and externally.  They provide strategic direction, set policies, develop employees, and measure and improve performance.  The Operations Senior Manager creates action plans to achieve organizational goals that are strategic in nature and align with operational and financial goals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage key internal and external strategic relationships at multiple levels of management to ensure business continuity
  • Promote and facilitate business opportunity for AMD and its customer to maximize AMD’s opportunities
  • Develop self and team, providing the tools and training to achieve goals, support career planning, and to enhance the organization’s capability
  • Develop functional strategy and provide leadership in the implementation of new processes in support of the strategy
  • Support revenue attainment by identifying supply risks and business opportunities
  • Guide team through developing and managing key process indicators to reduce costs and improve service levels
  • Engage with customers & suppliers through quarterly business reviews and operational meetings
  • Remove obstacles for employees, and create a motivating and safe work environment
  • Coaches others to work successfully in an ambiguous environmnet.  Articulates AMD's longer term business environment and resulting strategy.
  • Create action plans and keeps team focused on action plans to meet organizations mission and goals
  • Drive change management across organization at executive management levels
  • Create policy and processes that are impactful to the organization and AMD
  • Establish organizational compliance and control standards to ensure staff follow business practices
  • Role models and coaches other managers on maximizing effectiveness, organization development, and process improvement

 

Qualifications Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of related industry experience
  • 5 years experience in a management role; with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Solid managerial skills with a proven track record of resource management and developing team members
  • Able to lead, influence and drive change cross functionally
  • Strong operational Supply Chain experience a must
  • Strong Financial accucmen a plus
  • Understanding of supply chain operations and optimization techniques
  • Logistics and network analytics required
  • Process oriented with data driven decisions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills at executive level
  • Strong business judgement critical – executive communication experience key
  • Possess understanding of business strategy and the ability to identify areas for process improvement
  • Ability to tailor management style to effectively guide team members in various circumstances and readiness levels
  • Able to manage conflict internally and externally to balance AMD and customer success
  • Identifies tool and talent gaps and works to resolve through development or acquiring
  • Drive global, cross functional teams and demonstrate horizontal leadership
  • Minimal travel may be required
  • Excel,Powerpoint skills required; SAP a plus
