THE ROLE:

AMD is searching for an experienced Program/Project Manager to elevate and expand the Student Program at AMD and drive D&I efforts and Strategy for North America.  

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate will execute on the University Relations Strategy and will be capable to work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.  A passion for growing a program that will offer a solid foundation for AMD students and allow them to grow and develop. Engaging with university faculty and staff to build lasting partnerships and helping students succeed is a must for this role. We work in a fast-paced environment with a highly engaged team that travels about 25% of the time.   

  • Experience in recruitment of candidates – as Hiring Manager or Recruiter
  • People Management skills to motivate, mobilize and help guide and develop other team members

  • Proven operational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive cross functional relationships.

Cross-functional with Recruitment/Campus Team

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will be responsible to manage key university partnerships
  • Drive Investments, Funding, and Sponsorships
  • Build solid partnerships and sustainable engagements with faculty to drive communication and faculty immersion at AMD – enabling curriculum impact.
  • Liaison between university faculty and AMD Engineers – Curriculum in ACTION
  • Assist with formalizing capstone projects and help drive topics that are aligned with BUs – extending workbench into university with selected students
  • Drive sustaining activities at key universities to help build a future pipeline and familiarize students with AMD products.
  • Meet with key stakeholder from each BU to understand technology and help align key university partners.
  • Leverage quantitative analysis and reporting, including data-driven insight, market research, trend analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Partner with UR Manager to translate metrics, Research and trends into strategy.
  • Communicate current and emerging development trends in the semi-conductor industry.
  • Collaborate with team to elevate UR Team and gain visibility.
  • Assist with Workforce Planning.
  • Communicate UR Trends and Strategies across the Global UR Team to ensure actions are aligned with AMD inclusion strategy.
  • Collaborate with all UR Program Managers and other Business teams to meet overall program objectives and repot out to AMD Executives on metrics, ROI, and key partnerships.
  • Partner with UR Manager to report UR’s overall execution status internally and externally.
  • Lead and drive process adoption when necessary – NA and globally.

Qualifications

  • Good breadth of technical knowledge across AMD – previous work in Engineering field preferred
  • Extensive project management skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Team player with enthusiasm and tenacity to do whatever it takes for business and team success
  • Ability to align and build consensus among parties working towards the final goal

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in working and mentoring students (Hiring Manager or Recruiters)
  • People Management Skills
  • Program Management in Semi-Conductor Industry
  • General understanding of continuous improvement concepts
  • Leadership Skills

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS Degree with 7+ years of experience
  • Skilled in MS Office & Project, MS SharePoint, Teams
