  • Work alongside other architects in defining next generation of hardware, firmware, and software to support Confidential Computing.
  • Engage with industry leading hypervisor/virtualization partners, as well as Linux open-source community, to advance AMD’s Data Center products focused on next generation server CPU, virtualization/tenant VM isolation, and confidential computing technologies
  • Engage with Product Management, partners, and customers for capturing requirements related to virtualization and secure hypervisor technologies.

Preferred experience:

  • Minimum 10+ years experience in hypervisor and virtualization hardware/software/firmware development.
  • Strong expertise in software and systems architecture and design in hypervisors/virtual machines (VMWare ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM, QEMU) including platform enablement and associated software interfaces.
  • Systems level understanding of cloud orchestration and full virtual machine lifecycle.  Define and drive system level requirements to expose hypervisor hardware, software, and infrastructure features to virtual machines.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture systems and concepts, including server CPU systems, fundamentals of the system memory hierarchy and caches, and underlying system hardware and firmware.  Knowledge of existing hardware architecture(s) (x86 preferred) including associated security and/or virtualization extensions.
  • Familiarity with hardware/firmware features that support server virtualization workloads (AMD V/Intel VT-x, IOMMU, SR-IOV, SIOV)
  • Familiarity with hardware/firmware features that support Confidential Computing (AMD SEV or Intel SGX)
  • Experience with Linux system virtualization and related APIs.  Experience with Linux kernel and driver level development.  Working knowledge of how Linux interacts with various network, storage, and hardware peripherals.
  • Experience in designing or working with typical software/hardware interfaces and driver techniques.
