Semiconductor Product Engineering Project Manager

 

The Role:

  • Lead Product Engineering Projects through multiple phases of bringing Next Generation microprocessors to market.
  • Collaborates with Product Engineering Leadership, the Business Unit and Validation teams to deliver comprehensive microprocessor solutions which grow AMD’s profitability.
  • Resolves ambiguity and adapts the teams to changes in a dynamic environment.
  • Defines and runs key product deliverables/schedules and driving cross functional activities.
  • Drives pre-silicon planning.
  • Produces customer samples execution and high-volume manufacturing readiness, once silicon arrives.
  • Lead horizontally across several functional organizations.
  • Works closely with our:
  • Asia Engineering and Operations counterparts
  • Extensive interactions within the Product Engineering organization
  • Internal organizations (Design, Supply Chain, Business and Customer Engineering)
  • Project Budgeting

 

 

 

The Person:

  • Leadership: Able to lead teams of both direct and dotted-line reports to get results. Successfully leads large scale projects.
  • Project Management: Strong project and budget management capabilities.
  • Transferable Experience in Semiconductors: Requires some combination of expertise in semiconductor design, architecture, product test, product engineering, semiconductor physics and/or semiconductor manufacturing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with engineering managers, technical leads and other program managers to drive project planning and execution of multiple complex projects
  • Lead cross-team dependencies and coordinate cross-team initiatives/blocker issues
  • Develop project plans and schedules, improve processes for project tracking and risk mitigation, and implement standard methodologies, tools and templates
  • Deliver reports and presentations to technical leadership and key stakeholders
  • Meet deadlines and an aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Project Management bringing CPUs from 1st Silicon to volume production
  • Experience working in a team environment and actively driving solutions
  • Experience in running horizontal projects across multiple internal functional organizations (Engineering – US and abroad, Supply Management, Finance)
  • Background in Solid State Physics, Computer Architecture, Digital or Analog Design Preferred

 

Academic Credentials:

  • BS degree in related field BSEE, BSCE, MBA, MSEE, MSCE or equivalent experience.
  • PM Certifications and expertise with current Program Management processes/Tools and ISO 9000 processes highly desired
