Continuous Integration Engineer

 

THE ROLE:

Would you like to be part of a world class team enabling applications for high performance computing? AMD is searching for talented and software engineers to join our team of developers preparing applications for supercomputing platforms across industry, academia, and national laboratories.

 

This position is for a junior to mid-level software quality assurance engineer. 

You will be part of a team delivering a wide variety of High Performance Computing and Machine Learning applications for AMD CPU and GPU platforms. 

 

THE PERSON:

A software test engineer with a focus on automation and experience in building and testing development tools and software applications. Passionate about delivering high quality and well performing products to customers.  Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work well within a team environment.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement QA testing and automation environments for HPC and Machine Learning libraries and applications on multiple hardware platforms.
  • Build and test a variety of scientific and machine learning applications for AMD CPU and GPU systems
  • Interact with internal tool developers, 3rd party tool providers, and internal customers
  • Ensure quality documentation and functionality of applications and containers intended for external customer use
  • Adapt build environments for AMD software stacks
  • Integrate performance testing as part of the CI test apparatus
  • Data capture and presentation in the form of dashboards and reports
  • Creation of Docker containers
  • Setup and maintain Linux servers

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with test methodologies, software test case development, automation, and execution
  • Extensive experience configuring and maintaining software continuous integration systems such as Jenkins.
  • Experience with  hardware and software debuggers
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, Groovy) and programming (C/C++, Assembly).
  • Strong debugging & troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with installation and setup of complex applications
  • Experience with build system tools including Make, CMake, autoconf, and autotools
  • In-depth knowledge of software development practices including debug, test, revision control, documentation, and bug tracking. 
  • Experience in working on Agile and milestone-driven product development
  • Experience with cloud computing, containers, and job schedulers (Docker, Singularity, Jenkins, SLURM)
  • Linux administration, cluster management tools, (XCAT, IPMI, LDAP)
  • Team development skills including use of git and Jira
  • Ability to work well in geographically dispersed teams

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS STATEMENT:
