Senior Director, Client Platform Component Ecosystem & Partnership 

 

 

THE ROLE:

AMD Client business unit aims to build a very strong ecosystem of PC components.  This ecosystem is critical to continued success of the client business in both Notebook and Desktop. This is a high visibility role and a key trusted partner to AMD business and engineering leaders.

 

 

THE PERSON:

  • Be a self-motivated, able to prioritize work and perform job with minimal supervision

  • Be a big picture thinker, who can roll up sleeves and dive into details
  • Balance the need to be collaborative and team oriented with the ability to influence and push back when challenged
  • Be clear, concise, and effective communicator who can discuss complicated topics and issues in a straightforward and concise manner
  • Have a passion for innovation, be comfortable defining a way forward in the face of ambiguity, and can scale and influence broadly

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own client platform component ecosystem vision, strategy, and business execution
  • Identify and forge strategic partnerships in human interface, biometrics, sensors, and other client platform components
  • Build the organization and supporting processes
  • Build multilevel relationships that are strategic for client. Own the C level relationship with the partner
  • Create a programmatic mechanism to evaluate emerging companies for partnership and investment
  • Support client general managers in driving channel/VAR/OEM silicon and service sales
  • Collaborate with hardware, software engineering and ecosystem engineering teams to support technical partnership and execution

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated product management or partnership/alliances in a technology company
  • Strong understanding of the enterprise semiconductor market and associated software stack
  • Consulting experience at top tier management consulting company is helpful
  • Experience with working on several simultaneous projects and taking them from definition to delivery and adoption
  • Effective program management skills to collaborate with and lead very large groups of stakeholders across a diverse range of projects

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS and/or MS degree in Electrical or computer Engineering
  • Master’s degree in Business from a top tier university
