Senior Manager, Connectivity Software Ecosystem

 

The Role:

The Senior Manager, Connectivity Software Ecosystem is a high visibility leadership role and a key trusted advisor to client business leadership of AMD. The individual will have the opportunity to utilize their experience and expertise to lead AMD’s strategic partner engagements through all product lifecycle phases.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The primary objectives of this role are:

  • Lead strategic ecosystem initiatives in connectivity software (e.g. WLAN, Bluetooth, WWAN stacks and middleware), enabling best-in-class PC platform connectivity experience based on AMD technology
  • Collaborate with AMD cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, segment marketing, sales, customer engineering) to drive ecosystem initiatives forward   
  • Own software product planning through the phases of: technology pathfinding and readiness; partner due diligence and selection; establishing approved POR; and onto a solid path for execution and launch
  • Support general manager in developing strategic vision with short- and long-term tactics that enable long term revenue growth
  • Collect and analyze relevant market intelligence from multiple sources
  • Own business relationships with key connectivity software suppliers, including roadmap management, escalations, and operational reviews.
  • Market research and interaction with key customers to understand market trends and product requirements

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 10 yrs of high-tech product management, project management, and strategic planning experience
  • Strong understanding of the PC connectivity software market – apps, middleware, drivers, ecosystem players
  • Deep familiarity with notebook PC platforms and one or more of the following areas: Windows and/or Linux OS fundamentals, driver/app development; networking frameworks and stacks (e.g. WLAN; Bluetooth; WWAN (LTE, 5G).
  • Experience with working on several simultaneous projects and taking them from definition to delivery and adoption
  • Effective program management skills to collaborate with and lead very large groups of stakeholders across a diverse range of projects

  • Be a clear, concise, and effective communicator who can discuss complex topics and issues in a straightforward manner with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Have a passion for innovation, comfortable defining a path forward in the face of ambiguity.
     

Academic Credentials:

  • B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Master’s degree in Business from a top-tier university is a plus
