SMTS Systems Design Engineer - Automation Engineer

 

The Role:

Our team plays a major role in architecting and crafting every graphics board offered by AMD.

As part of the Datacenter GPU Validation team, you will be involved in the design and development of automation frameworks to validate AMD’s next generation of datacenter GPU products.

The person:

  • Extensive experience working in the validation area with a focus on low-level test development and automation; preferably in Semiconductors
  • Proven track record to grasp new technical concepts quickly
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Enjoys new challenges and quickly adapts to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Key responsibilities:

  • Support, design and develop in-house automation infrastructure used for GPU/CPU validation
  • Develop deep understanding of upcoming AMD SOCs, IPs and programming libraries to enable framework and build low-level automated test cases
  • Guide and enable team members on programming and automation aspects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic process improvements

Preferred experience:

  • Knowledge in hardware programming, bring up and test methodology
  • Hands on software development, programming, debugging and test automation experience
  • Programming proficiency in C/C++ and Python. OO design preferred
  • Understanding of software design patterns, best practices and API design
  • Proven understanding of PC Platform Architecture, with hands-on experience in assembling PCs from components, set-up, configuration
  • Experience in cross OS development in Linux and windows environment preferred
  • Familiar with source controls systems like Perforce, SVN and Git
  • Good communication skills and ability & desire to work as a great teammate
  • CI/CD knowledge is a plus
  • Strong interest in GPUs and machine learning is a plus
  • Graphics experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Linux Kernel development

Academic credentials:

  • Bachelor or master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or an equivalent preferred
