Performance Modeling Infrastructure Engineer


The Role:

The Person:

An outstanding technical contributor and a passionate and dedicated Server Systems Performance Architect who can join us to develop next-generation server simulators and use them to analyze complex workloads. A senior-level or aspiring member of technical staff who can quickly determine, using data, how next generation server platforms and high-performance CPUs should be engineered to accelerate adoption of our EPYC processors across cloud, enterprise and HPC customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve large pieces of a complex CPU/SoC simulation code base
  • Efficiently debug a wide range of non-intuitive simulator failure modes, speed deficiencies, user interface problems, etc.
  • Help advance performance simulation methodologies for next-generation server CPU exploration and projections.
  • Develop tools and methodologies for performance analysis of detailed server workload simulations.
  • Communicate, propose, and implement solutions to sophisticated SoC simulation issues.
  • Collaborate well with multiple teams across multiple sites.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with the development and usage of computer system performance models
  • Excellent programming skills, including experience with C++ and Python (or similar)
  • Familiarity with CPU, GPU, or computer system microarchitecture
  • Familiarity with computer workload analysis
  • Sufficient exposure to problem solving through collaborating with engineers in academic and industry settings:
    • Minimum of Bachelors with 6 years of relevant experience or Masters with 4 years of experience or PhD with 1 year of experience


Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field
