Silicon Design Engineer


The Role:

The goal of AMD CAD is to determine a set of best practices and techniques using industry-standard EDA software tools to design chips with the highest performance, the lowest cost and lowest power. AMD CAD automates these best practices into a software design flow built for efficiency and consistency and works with design teams worldwide to put the software to use in constructing next-generation GPUs, CPUs and APUs. AMD CAD develops Design Flows and Methodologies for AMD Design teams world-wide to use. We work closely with ALL the design teams at AMD, including Graphics, CPU Cores, and SOC teams.

Key Responsibilities:

You will join the CAD Logic Verification and Analysis team to develop and support design flows, EDA software tools, and scripts for RTL analysis and logic equivalence verification in an ambitious fast-paced production environment used to develop products on the very edge of modern technology. This will include communicating with RTL and Circuit Design Engineers to define requirements and resolve issues.


Preferred Experience:

  • Skilled in RTL Design using Verilog and SystemVerilog
  • Experience with Gate Level Design, and Formal Verification Strategies with tools such as
  • Synopsys Formality / Cadence Conformal LEC
  • Verific, Synopsys Spyglass/VC-Lint, or other similar tools.
  • Experience with Synthesis using Synopsys Design Compiler/Fusion Compiler or Cadence Genus
  • Strong structured SW development skills using scripting languages such as Perl and TCL


Academic Credentials:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Master’s preferred).
