Silicon Design Engineer 

THE ROLE:

Will work with a team of other verification engineers to verify a state-of-the-art microprocessor core. As well as participating in the defining and implementing test plans including stimulus, checking and functional coverage plans at different levels of design hierarchy including unit and full-chip environments. Working with high-level language test benches and test bench components including stimulus drivers, BFMs, behavioral models, monitors, and checkers. Writing tests with constrained randomization, debugging simulation fails, and working with designers to fix design bugs. Analyzing, and closing, functional coverage.

 

THE PERSON:

AMD is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented and motivated design verification engineers who are interested in functional verification of microprocessor cores. You’ll have the opportunity to work on and learn about some of the industry’s groundbreaking microarchitectural designs while you build verification plans for new design features and architectural improvements. Your contributions will impact products that span the global market from server, to desktop and laptop designs.

 

  • Description of Position:
    1. Design for Test Verification engineer on next generation low power, high performance microprocessor
  • Primary Purpose:
    1. Verify advanced Design for Test (DFT) functions such as BIST, JTAG/IEEE 1500, scan compression mechanisms and partitioned test structures.
    2. Interface with architects and circuit design teams to ensure that the testability design rules & requirements are met
    3. Develop test benches and tests in Assembly/Verilog/System Verilog/C++ to verify RTL and gate-level designs
    4. Define and implement test plans and work on code/functional coverage improvements
    5. Write, maintain, and enhance scripts using Perl or other scripting languages
  • Key Job Functions:
    1. Write test benches and tests to verify the DFT structures implemented within our designs
    2. Interface with the RTL/architects to provide feedback on DFT structures
    3. Interface with other verification engineers in adding created tests to regressions test suites.
  • Skills:
    1. Software (C/C++, OOP, Perl, Assembly)
    2. Verilog simulation and modeling
    3. Knowledge of DFT architectures
