Silicon Program Manager/System IP

The Role:

The Silicon Program Manager will be responsible for concurrent Data Fabric IP programs from product definition to full deployment. Additionally, the person in this role will be accountable to drive schedules, resources, status, and cross functional alignment of engineering tasks.

The Person:

This Program Manager will interact with AMD executives and senior management team, internal cross functional teams, and external teams dependent on DF IP. You will use your technical skills to manage broader teams and be the point person to ensure all of the quickly developing and sometimes competing priorities are in sync.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of program execution and its day-to-day activities.
  • Work with engineering management to drive execution excellence, including key metrics - performance, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Work is strategic in nature but hands-on work on tactical matters is expected.
  • Communication is a crucial part of this role which includes:
    • Interpreting/understanding business directions
    • Explaining tactical details
    • Recommending solutions regarding complex program situations
    • Executive level communications on status and problem resolutions
  • Defines, plans, and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance.
  • Possesses specialized knowledge plus a broader technical knowledge in areas outside his or her area of expertise.
  • Initiates significant changes to existing processes and methods to improve project and team efficiencies.
  • This individual will work collaboratively with AMD Program Management community on continuous process improvement.

Preferred Experience:

  • Program management experience in leading large, complex, interrelated projects, programs, and/or functions.
  • Chip design experience in large scale ASIC development, plus working knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines is highly desirable.
  • Result-focused, disciplined, and analytical, with good problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, communications skills, and teamwork spirit.
  • Possesses a detailed knowledge of the principles or project management and can apply them effectively on small to large size projects.

Academic Credentials:

  • BS in EE and Masters (preferred) in any engineering field.
  • Formal Project Management education, PMP designation is additional advantage.
