About the Department:

The Radeon Technology Group MI SOC Performance Architecture team is responsible for optimizing SOC performance by developing models and tools for end-to-end performance analysis, and identifying opportunities to improve performance across cores, memory system, applications and software stack.

 

Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to contribute significantly to software engineering on performance models of High Performance Systems. As a member of the team you will have significant deliverables in order to achieve overall product goals.

 

What You Will Learn:
You will learn about performance simulators including build frameworks, application analysis tools, debug and testing methodologies, and modeling of architecture features. The types of problem-solving techniques that will be gained will provide a great stepping stone for advanced graduate degrees in any field.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing tools and methodology for performance modeling, workloads analysis and micro-architectural deep-dives.
  • Assist in software design of simulation infrastructure for performance analysis and data collection.
  • Architectural modeling, performance triage, deeper analysis, identifying bottlenecks and investigating solutions for performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with performance architects in analysis and debug of simulation functional and performance sightings.
  • Participate on cross-functional engineering teams, work closely and help resolve software build and infrastructure related issues.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1. Software Development using C++ or other Object-Oriented Languages, 
  • 2. Scripting and automaton of workflows using Python or Perl
  • 3. Software Profiling, Debug and Testing skills
  • 4. Experience working with Revision Control Systems
  • 5. Good Software Engineering skills
  • 6. Strong organizational and communication skills

 

Academic Credentials:

  • BS/MS/PhD in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related.
