Sr Data Analysis Engineer

The Role:

The Sr DAE conducts an in-depth investigation to eliminate the causes of detailed and random issues relating to quality, reliability, and customer observations.

The Person:

This experienced person is encouraged to find effective solutions to sophisticated problems and drive continuous improvement. Technical leadership and innovation are required. Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines & adept at Failure Analysis and Troubleshooting. Mentoring less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data analysis of ATE test, SLT test, and customer failure logs.
  • Detailed analysis to drive corrective actions, apply best-known screening methods, and provide insight into debug activities.
  • End-to-end data analysis and correlation of in-line process monitoring, WAT, Wafer Sort, Package Test, and System Level Test.
  • Data extraction, summarization, prediction, correlation, and regression analysis.
  • Data mine test results to identify failure mechanisms, corrective actions, and weakness in the test strategy.
  • Ensuring that accurate product testing is performed on AMD products for optimal yield, performance, and quality.
  • Representing the Product Engineering Quality team at technical forums and drive company-wide initiatives.

Experience:

  • Experience with data extraction, manipulation, and storage
  • Statistical tools such as correlation, predictive modeling, contrast analysis, sample testing, etc.
  • Experience in applied Solid State Physics, Computer Architecture, Digital, or Analog Design.
  • General understanding of device test flows and CMOS fabrication process (front-end, lithography, metrology, back-end).
  • Experience with Python for data analysis & SQL for data extraction from databases.
  • Strong Proficiency in Excel, JMP, Yield Explorer, SAS, PowerBI or other EDA packages.
  • Proficient understanding of the Design of Experiments and their analysis.
  • Maintain excellent communication with different program partners (Product Managers, Test Managers, Quality Managers, Debug Leads, Manufacturing Facilities, Supply Chain).
  • Wafer and FT/SLT test methodology and equipment knowledge

Academic Credentials:

  • Extensive Yield debug/characterization or product engineering experience with MSEE/BSEE, MSCE/BSCE, or a BS/MS in Physics
