Sr. Analyst, External Research Office

The Role:

AMD Research is the advanced research and development organization for AMD. We are chartered to explore technologies beyond the company’s formal product roadmap by researching new hardware and software, tracking the development of emerging technology trends, and interacting with internal and external partners, customers, and the broader ecosystem to help guide AMD into the future. Our mission is to Drive Disruptive and Revolutionary Technology Innovation.

We are seeking someone with Program Management experience to join AMD Research. The person in the role will be responsible for initiating programs, following their progress, and serving as support provider in case issues arise. This person will coordinate efforts among internal teams and outside vendors and institutions, as well as develop effective schedules and monitoring action items that still need to be complete to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This role requires a great communicator who is dedicated to solving problems. A curious mind capable of quickly synthesizing technical information and helping teams find creative solutions. An organizer able to keep a variety of technical efforts on track.
  • Represent AMD in select external bodies to represent company interests, internally share leading practices, and enforce to the industry code of conduct and other guidelines
  • Ability to domestically travel 5% of the time, and willingness to work with partners located worldwide in various time zones when projects require

Preferred Experience:

  • Program management and relationship management software and tools
  • Working collaboratively with people across geographies, cultures, functions, and levels of seniority, with experience in a sales or information technology role preferred
  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven experience with data management and analytics
  • Employment at a multi-national, publicly-traded company
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with HPC systems or large computer centers running scientific programs and codes.

Academic Credentials:

Undergraduate degree in Business, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications, or a related subject area.
