The Role:
AMD is looking for a Business Planning Specialist to join our business planning organization. This role acts as the planning and will work closely with cross-functional Sales, Finance, and Business Unit teams to develop long range planning forecasts.
The Person:
A successful candidate can demonstrate the ability to synthesize large amounts of data to provide key recommendations, drive demand forecasting, forecasting accuracy, including sell-in forecast, sell-thru forecasting, and pipelines forecasting according to guidelines, model financial scenarios, and have a clear confident communication and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Creates Monthly Operations Forecast (MOF) for business unit. Coordinate across accounts, Finance and Global operations to ensure sound a sound business plan that meets critical financial objectives and balances new product timelines, product transitions, new account status and supply chain constraints
Engage with Sales and BU partners on a regular cadence to ensure that planning process reflects long-term business priorities
Analyze and derive insights from the planning process on business trends & market drivers
Drive forecasting accuracy, analyze booking trends including sell-in forecast, sell-thru forecasting, and pipelines forecasting according to guidelines
Build and continuously enhance forecast models for revenue forecasting, monitor demand vs. supply, and address ad hoc issues
inventory management to support business growth and identify any risks to consume the inventory
Support quarter end closing activities including but not limited to variances analysis of QTD billings plus backlog vs. Sales forecasting and risk assessment
Documentation and communication for all owned processes
Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 Years in demand forecasting and inventory management
- Strong excel skills
Academic Credentials:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Finance or another technical field; MBA preferred
