Director / Sr Director – Manufacturing Strategy

The Role:

  • Lead a manufacturing strategy team to drive and integrated view of AMD’s plans to drive manufacturing and supply chain excellence in its product portfolio
  • Be the owner for AMD Global Operations to build and maintain an integrated response to AMD long range plans (LRP) with a clear focus on technology, capability, capacity and cost
  • Coordinate and align with Operations, Technology and BU functional teams to develop and execute plans in support of our mid to long term manufacturing strategy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and grow a manufacturing strategy team to drive and integrated view of AMD’s plans
  • Develop and maintain an integrated response to AMD long range plans (LRP) with a clear focus on technology, capability, capacity and cost
  • Partner with technology and business units teams to identify disconnects, evaluate options, and make recommendations to solution gaps to roadmaps and product plans
  • Coordinate and align with Operations, Technology and BU functional teams to develop and execute plans in support of our mid to long term manufacturing strategy
  • Publish an integrated GOPS LRP response quarterly action plans to the GOPS leadership team
  • Lead cross functional teams (design, product engineering, procurement) to establish strategic partnerships that build on long-term capabilities needed for global operations

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in driving new product development in advanced semiconductor products from new product introduction through maturity
  • Leadership experience running a functional product development team or manufacturing operation
  • Experienced in driving programs for results working across business groups, design development, and manufacturing teams
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving successful partnership with technology suppliers / partners (foundrys, OSATs, and packaging)

 

Academic Credentials:

  • BS Engineering advanced engineering degree preferred
  • MBA, or an equivalent working exposure to Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Strategy
