Senior Director, Reliability Engineering

The Role:

AMD is searching for a Reliability Executive to lead the overall Technology and Product Reliability team across all AMD products – specifically, silicon, package, and board reliability from pre-silicon to volume production and through end of life of every product. The leader of this organization would be the point person driving reliability test, debug and robustness across current and future silicon and package technologies as well as running a state-of-the-art reliability lab ensuring capacity and capability supporting the complete AMD product roadmap.


This is a customer facing role with deep technical interaction on Reliability modeling and test techniques representing AMD at external customer forums. This leader will also represent the Global Operations team at internal business units including senior executive forums and program teams. This role would report will be leading a large international team and will report into the Corporate Vice President of Quality and Reliability. It provides an opportunity for heavy interactions with senior executives, influencing data driven decision making and technology readiness. This leader will also provide influence across several AMD functional groups and the business units, making it a high-visibility role with wide range of exposure to the overall business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Global AMD Reliability Engineering Organization
  • Responsible for Reliability design, modeling, and test execution and debug of all AMD products, from product concept to volume production and End of Life
  • Develop and drive a strategic reliability roadmap, in alignment with the AMD product and technology roadmap
  • AMD Executive level interaction for critical technology scaling and Customer projects
  • Customer interaction on next-generation product introduction and field support
  • Manage annual budget in areas of operating and capital expenses, in alignment with strategic reliability roadmap
  • Responsible for weekly and monthly Reliability metric monitors
  • Identify, develop, and retain extraordinary talent

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong management experience & technical skills in silicon and package reliability; experience with 7nm & 5nm FinFET technology is a strong plus
  • Experience with foundry technology and large die package technology including stacked die or multi-die package technology
  • Experience with reliability test equipment and test techniques. Participation and presence at technology forums including IEEE and JEDEC
  • Familiarity with JEDEC and AEC specifications

Academic Credentials:

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science is preferred
