Diagnostics Sr. Manager, Graphics & Compute

The Role:

You will lead a premier Graphics and Compute Diagnostics team who develops state of the art Diagnostics for ASIC feature verification, system level coverage, and stress. This team delivers pre-silicon planning and feature verification in an emulation/simulation environment. At post-silicon, the team is a key contributor for ASIC bringup, execution, and delivers high impact Diagnostics to AMD System Level Test (SLT) manufacturing, Platform, and our customers.

We are seeking a motivated technical Sr. Manager to lead a global Graphics and Compute Diagnostics team. You will be providing your engineering leadership while balancing resources, schedule compressions and leading resources for cross program priorities. You are responsible to enable the team to deliver GFX & Compute innovative Diagnostics, improve coverage strategy and stressful content across all AMD products. You will have a broad scope collaborating with internal multi-functional engineering teams including Design, Design Verification, Emulation, Platform, Product and Customer Engineering teams.

As a technical leader of a geographically dispersed team of 20 people, you will cultivate the individual's career development, growth, mentoring and coaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with all levels of engineering management, program managers, technical leads, and engineers to drive multi-functional project planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with the various engineering groups to solicit feedback and ensure the Diagnostics your team deliver is meeting and exceeding their expectations.
  • Empower the team to develop GFX & Compute Diagnostics for functional, stress and system level coverage to meet industry code quality standards and deliver to aggressive project timelines.
  • Direct the debug and root cause issues to facilitate the product smooth ramp up to production.
  • Drive productivity, efficiency and quality improvements demonstrating the best engineering practices.
  • Staff and develop your engineering team, attracting and maintaining strong talent pool. Mentor and coach your team to support individuals to achieve their career and personal development goals.

Preferred Experience:

  • The candidate is familiar with GPU architecture, 3D graphics technology such as DirectX, OpenGL application interface, shaders etc.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning framework such as Tensorflow, Pytorch, DirectML etc.
  • Familiar with SW engineering concepts and Object-Oriented programming.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Experience in leading complicated interrelated projects, programs, and functions.
  • Experience leading a geographically distributed team and a creative technical leader who is adept at prioritizing business needs and handling risks.
  • Outstanding management skills and working experience with customer facing engineering teams a definite asset.
  • Experience with source control systems (GIT, SVN)

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer/Electrical/Software Engineering preferred.
