Sr. Manager, Silicon product management

The Role:

Lead a global Silicon Product management and engineering team through multiple phases of bringing a new microprocessor to market. Plan and execute early silicon bring-up, characterization, product definition, test solution development (Sort/ATE/SLT hardware and test programs), and production ramp. Collaborate with Executive Leadership, the Business Unit, validation teams, Supply Chain, external manufacturing vendors and customers to deliver comprehensive microprocessor solutions which grow AMD’s profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Launch your product on schedule, to meet market opportunities and grow revenue.
  • Deliver a Product Test Solution, consisting of hardware, software, and test content to achieve the cost and quality requirements of the product.
  • Complete post-silicon characterization, product definition and performance optimization and enable internal validation team and external customers through the delivery of prototype samples.
  • Optimize the overall product cost structure to maximize AMD profitability. This can include, but is not limited to optimization of product yield, test hardware costs, and test costs.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners/customers to define and release an optimal mix of SOC product variants to meet customer needs while achieving internal manufacturing and cost requirements.
  • Work with internal AMD Operations and external manufacturing vendors to ensure the capability and capacity is in place to support the product launch and high-volume ramp of a new processor.
  • Develop members of your team, from both a technical and leadership perspective, to grow the next generation of Product and Technical Leadership within AMD.

Preferred Experience:

Transferable Experience in Semiconductors: Requires some combination of expertise in semiconductor design, architecture, product test, product engineering, semiconductor physics and/or semiconductor manufacturing.

  • Computer architecture, especially GPU architectures or the x86 architecture
  • Silicon performance optimization techniques, especially those pertaining to power optimization, frequency maximization and advanced performance management techniques.

Academic Credentials

  • MBA, or an equivalent working exposure to Supply Chain, Operations, Product management / marketing / strategy.
