Position Description:  The PMO Senior Manager will conduct project management activities related to Global Operations projects in addition to managing the personnel and activities of the entire PM team.   Also, this person will ensure that projects are conducted in accordance with best practice PMO concepts and methodologies.  Further responsible for driving positive change, innovation and efficiency through the PM team.  Lastly, build a best in class PMO team through continuous structured organizational review to manage activities and personnel.

 

Candidate Background:  The ideal candidate will be a high energy individual with a bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a technical field.  Also, this person will have demonstrated experience of progressively being responsible for program management with Lean Six Sigma and direct management of project managers.  A PMP certification and/or LSS belt certification or similar methodology is essential for this role. 

 

Candidate Proficiencies:

  • Manage projects while overseeing team project work and providing direction
  • Demonstrated success of working across functional organizations, driving teams in the creation of project strategies and plans
  • Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization
  • Customer focused and solution-oriented mindset approach to leading work with PMO leadership, project sponsors and stakeholders to develop solutions and project plans that deliver against objectives
  • Proactively drive risk mitigation, governance and compliance
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the passionate leader and voice of the Project Management team. Advocate for team tools and other resources.
  • Implementation of PMO phased approach across the Global Operations projects. 
  • Implementation of Lean Six Sigma methodologies across Global Operations projects.
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to improve cross-functional, multi-level (organizational hierarchy project participation)
  • Management and evaluation of project financial and revenue impacts/returns and meet stated ROI.
  • Individual hands on management of select projects.
  • Structure and execute complex analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior management both project and organizational.
  • Evaluation, mentoring and motivation of team members.
  • ISO certification program expertise

 

 

Key Success Criteria:  The manager will be evaluated based upon the relative achievement of the following measures and other standards mutually agreed upon:

  • Return on Investment achievement across individually managed projects and PMO team ROI achievement
  • Risk mitigation and management (individual and team)
  • Project key milestone achievement (individual and team)
  • Organizational efficiency and innovation as indicated by improvements in project volume/success
