JOB TITLE:  Senior Business Development Manager -  Strategic OEM Accounts




We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager for the Datacenter GPU Business Unit. This is a critical role that requires both deep customer as well as internal AMD executive engagements across engineering and business organizations. The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and driving AMD GPU opportunities to profitable revenue.


The Business Development Manager at AMD will:


  • Develop and maintain a critical understanding of GPU accelerators used in virtualization, deep learning and HPC markets and provide feedback for future product roadmaps and investment
  • Analyze competitive environments and recommending plans of action that will maximize AMD’s profitability and returns
  • Develop the engagement plan for assigned strategic OEMs, building the needed customer relationships, and working with internal teams to get the required customer support, partnering with the AMD sales and other teams as appropriate


This opening is for a proven business leader that can drive successful customer technical and marketing collaboration as well garner the resources  to support current and future datacenter GPU opportunities at key datacenter customers. Established relationships with our target customers is a strong plus, as is a solid background in high performance computing.


  • Job Responsibilities:


  • Quarterback a core team of cross-functional members involved in engaging and supporting the customer, driving to design wins and revenue capture
  • Alongside Sales, be a primary contact point in customer engagements, evangelizing AMD datacenter GPU technologies/products and capabilities
  • Drive and manage all pre-design win efforts and deliverables, including complex/enterprise-class engineering engagement which include scoping of any customer-specific customizations and support requirements
  • Contribute to the setting of account strategy, the resulting tactical milestones, and leading the team to achieve them. 
  • Support sales strategy planning and customer engagements on sell-through plans and “special deals” toward revenue recognition
  • Understand the customer’s business goals and requirements;  Foster relationships and manage customer expectations to ensure needs are aligned with AMD business goals
  • Be a strong advocate for the customer internally
  • Understand customer h/w and s/w requirements, configurations, applications and architect solutions accordingly
  • Maintain awareness of, and provide reports on, customer status and key issues
  • Drive for highest levels of customer engagement and satisfaction


Job Requirements:


  • 10+ years of experience in the computing industry, at the OEM, ODM, or technology provider level
  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role
  • Knowledge of GPU-accelerated workloads and modern server platform architecture
  • Outstanding written, oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple simultaneous projects
  • Highly results driven
  • BS, or higher, in Engineering (Computer or Electrical) or Business strongly preferred
