Senior Paralegal/Contracts Negotiator

The Role:

You will report to an attorney in the Law Department and will be a member of the legal team supporting AMD’s data center and semi-custom business groups.

The Person:

Your primary responsibilities will be to work with attorneys and other paralegals in assisting AMD hardware and software development, product management, business development, and sales teams with transactional matters, primarily passionate about contract drafting, negotiation, and compliance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in drafting, negotiating, and client counseling related to software license agreements, product and technology development contracts, product sales contracts, technology licenses, and other agreements with customers and technology development partners.
  • Review of open-source software license terms and client counseling regarding the use of open-source software.
  • Preparing contracts summaries and assisting with contracts management functions.
  • Reviewing technical papers and presentations, engineering publications, and other external communications for legal compliance.
  • Assisting with the development and presentation of training on legal and compliance topics.

Preferred Experience:

  • shown experience as a transactional paralegal or contracts negotiator. In-house legal department experience is preferred.
  • A proven understanding of the basics of contracts law and software licensing. Experience with open-source software licenses and source code auditing/compliance tools (for example Black Duck, WhiteSource, FlexNet/Revenera) is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple simultaneous projects efficiently and effectively from basic to sophisticated under time pressure, while maintaining attention to detail and a positive, constructive attitude.
  • A standout colleague with a good sense of humor.

Academic Credentials:

Paralegal certificate or comparable training.
