                                                                               ATE Product Development Engineer

The primary role of this position is:

Product Engineering is a time-to-market driven team responsible for enabling the availability of microprocessors to our customers. Pre-silicon responsibilities for the Test Engineer include understanding product features, developing test plans, test creation, pattern debug, characterization, data analysis, highlighting test coverage holes, and developing software and hardware infrastructure to execute those plans. This requires interaction with Design and Platform Engineering and allows for the opportunity to provide test enhancement feedback for future designs. Post-silicon responsibilities include microprocessor debug & analysis and the execution of characterization plans. This may include silicon performance issues, yield issues, manufacturing processes, and device marginalities. The Test Engineer will work closely with Design and Platform Engineering to root cause issues that result from the debug, characterization and margin analysis. The Test Engineer will also drive part failure analysis leading to test flow and/or yield improvements. ATE experience required. Solid coding skills preferred.




Education: Candidates will have a BS/MS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering plus directly related experience  


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating ATE test methodologies and writing/debugging ATE test programs
  • Engage with SOC, IP, DFT, and Product Engineering teams on capturing and documenting test, characterization  and pattern requirements
  • Post Silicon Bring up and debug of Test patterns with SOC DV teams leading to optimization for HVM enablement.
  • Characterization and debug of new silicon designs and process technologies across Voltage and Temp.
  • Optimization of test flows for increased quality and cost improvement.
  • Look for opportunities to create innovative solutions to improve efficiency and quality of our test program development
  • Analysis of part failures leading to test improvement.
  • Perform Test program integration, validation and release
  • Transfer NPI knowledge to Sustaining team
  • Experience with ATE probe and FT HW design and debug


Preferred Experience:

  • BS/MS Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Semiconductor ATE Test Engineering experience
  • Strong communication skills including data presentation.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Perl, Python, Ruby
  • Strong ATE test development with Advantest 93k and/or T2K platform
  • Unix and Windows proficiency.
  • Familiarity with Verilog simulation tools and JTAG protocol is a plus.
  • Modern computer architecture knowledge
  • Understanding of semiconductor device physics and speed path analysis
  • Understanding of system-level test techniques is a plus
