Sr. Product Management Specialist, AMD Embedded Solutions

The Role:

AMD is looking for a highly hardworking product manager for the next generation of Embedded APU solutions for AMD's Embedded Business Unit. You will be responsible for owning and driving the definition and delivery of the “Whole Product” including SoC Silicon, Platforms, Software, and Enablement, and ensuring these products are positioned to win in the embedded markets. Working directly with AMD engineering, Product Marketing, and Sales and closely interacting with partners to ensure the accurate solution is defined and developed.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Product owner for a subset of the portfolio of embedded APU solutions. Accountability to ensure that products and solutions have the appropriate features and performance characteristics and are positioned to win.
  • Provide the strategic and long-term vision and recommendations on how to advise our roadmap.
  • Understand APU and SOC technologies and embedded market trends and customer needs to drive business decisions for efficient revenue and market growth.
  • Drive competitive analysis and benchmark strategy to ensure positioning of all AMD’s Embedded APU solutions.
  • Work with AMD internal teams over the AMD product life cycle.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Product Marketing teams on product-specific activities. Ensuring the requirements are met and aligned with the horizontally driven product.
  • Train and enable internal and customer teams with critical knowledge of AMD embedded APU solutions and drive standard methodologies to reduce time-to-revenue and scale business.
  • Provide product and technology feedback from customers into the roadmap planning process.
  • Support Senior Product Managers in the execution of their function.
  • Drive and be responsible for the tactical elements of Product Management for the team.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of technical product management experience, preferably in the embedded market.
  • An understanding of the embedded APU market trends, and of semiconductor design cycles.
  • Graduate engineering degree and/or MBA preferred.
  • Experience making pitches to and influencing senior technical and business leaders.
  • Experience and knowledge of the requirements from embedded APU customers in defining and enabling sophisticated products.
  • Proven experience in driving international distributed cross-functional teams.
  • Agile and adaptable to changing business requirements.
  • Experience working in a multi-site, multi-cultural environment, and ability to travel as needed.
  • Great teammate with passion and independent aim to achieve business success.
  • Excellent communication and evangelizing skills with an ambitious spirit to drive team results.

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
