The Foundry Technology Organization (FTO) within AMD is responsible for ensuring AMD products are equipped with compelling and competitive process technology.  We collaborate with our foundry suppliers and with Design, Product and Business teams to deliver technology capability aligned and optimized for product need.  Typical areas of activity include design, testing, quality, reliability, yield analysis and production support.  FTO is a key enabler of AMD market success and offers the opportunity to contribute across multiple disciplines in a fast-paced work environment.

Job Purpose

The scope of this role is the validation and ramp of advanced technology modules for AMD’s upcoming processor products. Contributions will span many areas including methodology development, technology integration, device characterization, statistical analysis and data interpretation. As a key member of the team, you will have clearly defined deliverables that impact the company's success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist product engineers in product development, silicon debug and characterization.
  • Perform engineering and correlation studies to ensure yield, device performance and reliability meet corporate goals.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve design/process issues.
  • Interface with designers and foundry support personnel in support of project milestones

Desired Skills and/or Experience

  • Semiconductor theory and electronics (advanced technology exposure a plus)
  • Fundamentals of statistical analysis
  • Programming/Scripting capability (Pearl/Python, SQL queries a plus)
  • Computer hardware
  • Strong organizational, computer and communication skills
