What you do at AMD changes everything

At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible.  We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.

Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile” to achieve unthinkable results.  It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world.   If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.

Do you want to be a key contributor to highly-scaled HPC and ML training clusters from AMD?  The Network Validation and Performance team is looking for computer networking engineers to ensure clusters of GPUs perform optimally across RDMA networks.  You will be validating different networking technologies and identifying performance optimizations in areas such as: platform configurations, BIOS settings, network configurations, OS settings, GPU architecture, etc.  You will be interfacing with networking partners as well as senior hardware and software engineers and architects in a very flat AMD organizational structure.  You will be exposed to cutting-edge technology and will have the opportunity to build out the test environment and contribute to test plans and methodology.

The type of person who will be successful in this role is highly inquisitive, a team player, communicates proactively, has excellent written and verbal communication skills, and is highly analytical.  Bonus points for familiarity with AMD GPUs and the ROCm software stack.

  • Test environment set up and installation
  • Development, execution, and communication of test plans and results
  • Document configuration and best practices tuning guides
  • Interface with networking partners and software/hardware engineers

  • Comfortable setting up servers, changing hardware, updating firmware and installing server software
  • RDMA network and PCIe configuration and troubleshooting
  • Industry-standard performance benchmarks
  • System and software performance debug tools
  • ML and/or HPC system design

  • Pursuing BS/MS in EE/CS degree
