The Display IP Team is the team behind such ground-breaking visualization technologies as: FreeSync, FreeSync-HDR, AMD Wireless Display, VR Ready, Liquid VR, and Eyefinity. We are also the team responsible for the display features within several generations of top-tier game consoles. The Display IP team is responsible for researching, developing, and delivering its hardware designs to all discrete GPU’s, APU’s and custom SOCs within AMD. This single department develops the custom hardware needed to process and deliver graphics from memory to screen. This includes a breadth of processing tasks including memory fetching, quality of service, pixel and image processing, compression, decompression, and output encoding using standards such as HDMI and DisplayPort. As a member of our growing team, you will have an opportunity to collaborate with our architects, designers, verification engineers, and managers to perform digital hardware design and verification functions.

JOB PURPOSE:

To aid the Display IP team in delivering world-class, cutting-edge designs to AMD’s product portfolio through the application of industry-leading design verification systems, processes, and tools.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As a part of the Display Controller team, your responsibilities will include(but not limited to):
    Developing, debugging and updating tests written in a variety of programming languages measure and improve power aspects of the design
  • Developing and maintaining key tools and processes for image visualization, performance data visualization, and test validation, which will be used by the design team on a daily basis
  • Working closely with senior design team members on the engineering, implementation and verification of the IP
  • Providing weekly status updates and reviews on tasks and projects
  • Other opportunities if interested and workload permits:
    • Introduce new ideas and update features that will assist the team with quality of life and debugging efficiency
    • Participate in the design development cycle (Test plans, implementation, debugging, working with design team members to sign off)
        

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN/GAIN:

  • Deep understanding and proficiency in industry-standard verification frameworks, techniques, and languages
  • The complete ASIC design cycle for multiple parallel projects, from concept through implementation and verification to tapeout
  • Industry-leading Display technologies which utilize a wide spectrum of industry-accepted design and verification techniques
  • Experience on the real-world of engineering, from office-life to the engineering process
  • Practical, real-life application of key Engineering principles which include research, coding, and debug

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of digital electronics and ASIC design flow
  • Knowledge of Verilog/System Verilog.
  • Proficiency in C/C++
  • Knowledge of UVM (plus)
  • Knowledge of debug Verilog/System Verilog RTL code using simulation tools (plus)

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS/MS in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related.
