What you do at AMD changes everything

At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible.  We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.

Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile” to achieve unthinkable results.  It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world.   If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.

Package Reliability Engineering Co-op Opportunity:

Seeking a Senior or MS level student of Physics, Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering, to establish an automated design analysis framework for reliability prediction for the next generation of GPUs and graphics cards.

The candidate will utilize CAD concepts to build models of physical components and board-level geometries, and integrate material properties and board reliability data into the models. The Co-op will generate time-to-fail predictions based on the thermal, mechanical and reliability analyses. During this process, the candidate will establish best-practice simulation methodology best practices to ensure consistent analysis outcomes and to train team members. The candidate will not only gain knowledge of the software tools/techniques through this experience, but also gain knowledge about AMD products, their design, and various field applications. Besides technical skills, the candidate will pick up soft skills such as working with different engineering teams, creating technical presentations, writing technical reports, and learning typical business practices. Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA), CAD, and Python scripting is a plus.
