DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Engineer position within AMD accountable for supporting the definition, development, and validation and debug of platform board configurations for custom-built system level test and burn-in equipment used for functional and reliability testing of AMD's microprocessor and graphics products.

 

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assists in deliverying validated, production-worthy board configurations used in system level test and burn-in equipment solutions for new microprocessor and graphics products
  2. Contributes to platform requirements and supports/executes design, build, and validation
  3. Writes and executes test hardware test plans
  4. Develops test hardware test scripts
  5. Collaborates on new system level test and burn-in platform designs and technology
  6. Support Ad-hoc sustaining hardware related issue as required

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  1. Familiar with modern computer hardware architecture
  2. Familiar with understanding PCB schematic and layout design
  3. Proficient with lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
  4. Strong communication skills, including the ability to create and discuss technical documentation and presentations
  5. Proficient with Microsoft standard products: Windows Operating Systems and Office applications
  6. Proficient user of Linux and/or Unix Operating Systems
  7. A plus if experience in scripting languages such as Groovy, Ruby, Perl, Python, etc.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  1. Familiar with system level test hardware (microprocessor, graphics, or other)
  2. Familiar with burn-in test hardware (microprocessor, graphics, or other)
  3. Experienced with being part of a global team

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Position requires at minimum a technology related Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of related experience
  2. New college graduate with relevant academic background and Co-Op/Intern experience will be considered
