Memory Systems Engineer

The AMD Client and Graphics Business Unit (CGE) is looking for a dynamic, energetic Memory Systems Engineer to join our growing team focused on DDR4, LPDDR4/4x, and future memory technologies.  As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s product portfolio, you will be part of a high-performance AMD team driving the delivery of high quality, industry leading product technology to market.  The CGE team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop technical test plans and tools to support platform level silicon bring-up and the validation execution of DDR4 and LPDDR4/4x memory subsystem in partnership with memory controller and PHY designers, BIOS developers, and platform design engineers.
  • Execute electrical and functional DDR4 and LPDDR4/4x memory sub-system test plans as part of a technical platform team to verify silicon and system functionality to product specification using hardware and software validation tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Analyze electrical and functional test data to drive into production SOC and system solution decisions.  
  • Debug of memory system issues found during pre-silicon emulation, bring up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in system memory validation and / or SOC IP electrical characterization, preferably in DDR4/LPDDR4/4x
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in the development and execution of platform level electrical and functional test plans.
  • Experience in the debug of I/O interfaces such as DDR4 and LPDDR4/4x
  • In-depth knowledge of PC architectures and system technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with or knowledge using oscilloscopes, reading schematics and layout design files  
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of engineering disciplines and management.  

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with focus on high speed memory technologies and I/O interfaces.
