System Performance Lead

THE ROLE: 

  • Technical, hands-on individual responsible for Datacenter GPU and Accelerated Processing product line's performance attainment , will be primarily responsible for interfacing with silicon design, firmware, and platform design groups to develop pre-Silicon emulation and post-Silicon performance validation test plans. Must be self-organizing and able to multitask based on priorities.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute performance feature enablement and validation test plans for SoC- and system-level SoC features
  • Triage application performance issues and work with software, driver, firmware, hardware teams for root cause 
  • Develop post-silicon perf validation plans for testing soc, system features of ML/HPC accelerators 
  • Co-relate and validate pre-silicon (analytical, cycle accurate) projection models 
  • Work with design teams to improve performance monitoring unit architecture
  • Manage the performance swimlane deliverables, schedules and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in developing effective performance validation tools
  • Focus on continuous improvement of performance test strategy, methodology, and process
  • Mentor junior engineers 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of experience in performance attainment of high performance CPU/GPU 
  • Experience with CPU/GPU micro-architecture, system architecture   
  • Understanding of modern GPU architecture is highly desired
  • Expertise in developing performance validation test plans and methodologies
  • Participated in silicon bring up and debug, support to internal engineering teams
  • Able to execute and drive success of programs with multiple projects on the go
  • Familiarity with programming / scripting language (C/C++, Python, Perl, ...)
  • Triage an application level performance issue to a specific area 
  • Must be a self-starting team player with excellent communication skills
  • Thought leader that drives improvement to development process, code architecture and fosters a spirit of innovation

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Workload development(Micro-Benchmarks)  experience is a big plus
  • Knowledge of perf monitoring tools (rocprof, uProf, linux perf, Vtune) is a plus 
  • Knowledge on PCIe protocol. CXL protocol is a plus

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Masters’ degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electronics
