As an engineer on the Server Memory validation team you join a dedicated team whose work has enabled AMD to deliver multiple Sever SoCs to market. The Server Memory Validation team tests all the memory from our partners used on AMD EPYC systems. We are at the cutting edge of memory technology. This is your chance to be a part of this unique team!

 

The position

The Server Memory Validation team is looking for a recent college graduate to fill an entry level validation engineer position. In this role, you will help ensure the functional quality of DDR4, DDR5 and future memory implementations, design, and improve the validation environment and methodology to support new AMD products.

 

Validation engineers are responsible for developing test cases, testing, managing systems and partner memory modules. The team works on first silicon bring up, on real systems. Team members also document and execute test plans consisting of new tests, functional checks and coverage. The goal is to find functional issues in the memory system before delivery to customers.

The team is based in Austin, TX, and collaborates with teams across the globe. Engineers interact with architects, RTL designers, BOIS developers, performance engineers, and post-silicon validation engineers. You will get opportunities to develop deep expertise in DDR4, DDR5 and new memory architecture.

 

The Person

Ideally you bring the following qualifications to our team:

Education

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with a focus on computer architecture and digital systems hardware.

Experience

  • Have exposure to using hardware, debugging, and digital systems via coursework or preferably internship or other work experience. 
  • Have a strong background in computer architecture and object-oriented software development.
  • Scripting in languages such as Python or Ruby.

Capabilities

  • Be comfortable interacting with a diverse set of colleagues, and across different geographies
  • Self-motivated to solve problems, and proactive to get help when needed.
  • Good communication skills
  • Enthusiasm to learn and grow as part of a dynamic fast paced team.
