In this position, the System Memory Tool Developer will be working with the Platform Silicon memory team responsible for DDR and LPDDR bring-up, feature enablement, memory training, memory margining, engineering feature inspection,  and issue debug on new desktop and mobile products.

Key Responsibilities

The System Memory Tool Developer will need a working understanding of SOC internal IP blocks, UMC, memory technologies DDR and LPDDR.

  • Work will be focused within the debug tools enablement team that supports engineering activities through the construction of tools and automation components
  • Study our new SOC memory features to implement methods to characterize and inspect our UMC IP block
  • Create new methods to study a failed system and deduce if memory related IP blocks are healthy or suspect of having encountered functional failure
  • Responsible for the construction of analysis libraries to be executed within platform silicon team activities and our general automated failure analysis distributed application
  • Supervise and maintain proper functionality of your libraries, assisting in consultation of failure data output, and enabling the extended team
  • Assist in specific critical debug efforts/tiger teams make the best use of debugging analysis tools
  • Field questions from validation and debug engineers and support the general use of our failure analysis tools
  • Assist in implementation, execution, and debug of the infrastructure using (but not limited to) the components in Preferred Experience section.
  • Opportunity to learn the AMD Kysy JTAG Python API interface

  • Memory technology DDR & LPDDR
  • Python (most critical skill)
  • Jenkins and git
  • JSON data manipulation and structured database APIs
  • Regular expressions
  • Windows & Linux virtual machines
  • Rest API interfaces
  • Web development
  • Utilization of Clouds services
  • IT org interaction, service requests, VM maintenance

Academic Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Electronics / Computer Science related
  • 0-2+ years of experience in SoC and debug. .
      • AMD is a government contractor and subcontractor.
