Systems Design Engineer

 

The Role:

A phenomenal junior engineer opportunity to be part of the AMD Semi-customs Business Unit’s Systems Engineering Team. In this job, you will be participating power validation on special designed APUs. This exciting job is in Austin Texas.

 

The Person:

A recent college graduate with bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering who is passionate about computer systems. An effective communicator, self-starter and goal-oriented achiever who can work under pressure.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Power optimization for Semi Custom APU products
  • Develop test plan and execute Power Testing on Computer Systems
  • Debug and solving system level issues
  • Responsible for post-silicon activities related to Power targets

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Solid understanding of CPU, GPU, and system architectures and their implications on system power and performance.
  • Knowledge in BIOS, device driver, application software, benchmark software, and how they interact with hardware is preferred.
  • Experience with scripting languages: Perl, Python, Ruby
  • Hands-on lab experience with a focus on power data collection and analysis.
  • Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed technical organization and multi-site environment

 

Academic Credentials:

BSEE from an accredited university with 1-year proven experience
