Technical Yield Leader

The Role:

Product Engineering is a cost, quality, and time-to-market driven team responsible for enabling the availability of microprocessors to our customers. Responsibilities for the Product Engineer include understanding product features, developing characterization test plans, highlighting test coverage holes. This requires interaction with Design, Test, and Platform Engineering and allows for the opportunity to provide improvement feedback for future designs.

The Person:

Is responsible for Identifying “Symptoms and Potential Cause” of fab, test, and assembly yield and performance limiters. Resolving “Root Cause and Corrective Actions” & deploying “Solutions”. Work with engineering teams across multiple products to schedule and implement identified improvements. Understand the business needs, align product volume, and yield expectations and is responsible for ensuring the defined product meets customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product characterization and test point optimization
  • Strong people management and communication skills
  • Sound problem-solving skills
  • Statistical methods and tools for data analysis
  • Semiconductor process, packaging, and test technologies
  • Semiconductor fabrication process optimization (direct experience in defining and validating a semiconductor device’s performance preferred)
  • DFT features such as ATPG Scan, memory BIST, JTAG, and at speed testing
  • Effective communication and the ability to influence across organizational boundaries & geographically distributed teams

Academic Credentials:

  • Preferred B.S.
  • Specific experience in the Yield Analysis and Debug arena could be substituted for a specific degree.
