Workstation Segment Leader

 

Within the Client Computing Group, we are bringing disruptive technology to the personal computing ecosystem.  Our RYZEN branded products are designed for the most demanding developers, artists, and gamers - people who demand responsiveness and power efficiency from their PC.  RYZEN stormed the market in 2017 and continues to excite people across the globe.

 

As the Workstation Segment Leader, you will be the business owner for AMD's Client Compute Workstation business.  You will take an end-to-end approach toward building, growing, and sustaining a profitable business in the exciting workstation PC market.  End customer engagement (voice of customer), OEM customer engagement (design win, platform execution), Ecosystem partner engagement (Software vendor/optimization), Go-to-Market (launch, marketing, training), and product oversight/definition/development (guiding engineering, etc.) will all be part of the role.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Develop business strategy and financial forecasts for Client Workstation business

Manage Workstation design-in cycle with Major OEM's

Communication of strategies and plays to the OEM Account sales team

Oversee product definition and development process

Coordinate cross-project activities

Leverage appropriate internal/external organizations to resolve issues

Develop deep customer relationships, drive customer meetings + agendas to most effectively grow AMD workstation business

Documentation of business plans, including volume, mix, revenue, margin, and market share

Market research and interaction with the customer to understand market trends

Contingency and/or alternatives planning for possible market shifts

 

Preferred Experience:

 

Strong knowledge of the PC workstation market

Business acumen / "CEO" mindset

Exceptional time-management skills - ability to handle multiple ongoing projects/initiatives

CPU/SoC technical knowledge

Ability to "bring it all together" across product/marketing/supply/etc

Strong organizational skills - Ability to work across a large organization and get things done

Executive-level presentation and communication skills - ability to speak with confidence

 

Education/Experience:

 

10+ Years in a product management / product portfolio leadership role

BS and/or MS degree in Business Management, Finance, or Engineering from a top-tier university

MBA is a strong plus.
