SMTS Software Technical Lead (Firmware) 



SCBU Software team is building its India team.    As the pioneer of SCBU Software team in India, the software technical lead will work with SCBU software leadership team to build the knowledge, process, and setup the foundation of team growth. 


SCBU Software team is missioned to enable SCBU product capability and improve user experience by providing our SW solution.    Our software deliverables, including BIOS, firmware, driver, and tools, are used in HW validation, production qualification, reference programming and end-user environment.     The role will be working with global software teams and other functional teams to find out optimal SW solutions and make the deliverables happen.    



The person needs to have strong technical leadership skillsets, accountability, sense of urgency and good communication style.  He shall have solid C/C++ proficiency, good hardware knowledge and firmware experience.     He shall have strong motivation and interest to learn new technology, process and be versatile to expand to various domains. 



  • Be accountable for SCBU security firmware delivery on assigned programs 

  • Develop and debug firmware solutions for AMD’s proprietary security processor embedded within the AMD System on Chip (SoC) designs. 

  • Lead technical discussion with SCBU customer on security firmware related topics 

  • Mentor daily work of junior engineers in SCBU SW India team 

  • Explore technical development direction of SCBU SW India team 

  • Develop and grow FW development and debug capability of SCBU SW team 



  • In-depth embedded firmware/RTOS development mandatory 

  • Experience in information security design and implementation 

  • Experience in ARM firmware and/or ARM Trust Zone ™ technology 

  • Extensive experience with firmware security implementation 

  • Experience with TPM technology preferred 

  • Knowledge and experience with hardware low-speed busses (I2C, LPC, UART) 

  • Strong C/ C++ programming experience  

  • Strong debug methodology and analytical skills 

  • Experience in BIOS or firmware architecture  

  • Experience in x86 architecture 

  • Intimate knowledge of software development process methodology  

  • Possess the technical proficiency and confidence to clearly represent design ideas, complex problem descriptions and innovative solutions with other developers as well as customer teams. 

  • Self-motivated in leading, exploring and problem solving 

  • Good analytic skill and continuous improvement spirit 



  • Bachelor, Master or Ph.D, major in EE, CS or related area
