Software Design Engineer 2

AMD is looking for an experienced engineer for an exciting role in CPU libraries development team. This person will be a member of a core team and will work with the latest hardware and software technology. The person will interact closely with key AMD technical experts to ensure the best possible performance and results on AMD platforms.

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for optimization/developing of the CPU performance stack (libraries) for AMD server processors. This is a great opportunity to work as a part of highly regarded team to deliver leading edge solutions.

Education & Technical Qualifications:

  • Candidate should possess a Bachelor degree or higher in Electronics or Computer Science or related engineering field from a reputed university and should have 5-9 years of experience.
  • Very strong data structure and algorithmic skills
  • Experience in identifying performance bottlenecks, and crafting/implementing optimizations to relieve analyzed bottlenecks
  • Experience in software development using C/C++ and debugging skills on multicore systems
  • Experience in performance analysis for data center, HPC (High Performance Computing), MPI (Message passing Interface) applications
  • Experience in x86 (or other architecture based) optimizations
  • Understanding of Cache sub-system, Instruction Set Architecture, pipeline (for any CPU)
  • Bonus skills: Experience on Intel MKL libraries, Linear Algebra, FFT, x86 assembly programming
  • Knowledge of one or more CPU Profiling tools (preferably in Linux)
  • Graduate/master’s degree in computer science or related fields

General

  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and drive completion of business goals
  • Experience working in a multi-site environment and ability to travel occasionally to meet with
  • developers
  • A team player, who is very self-motivated, loves difficult challenges, and is results oriented
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to get results will be a plus
