Head of China Government Affairs

THE ROLE:

We are searching for a Senior Director, Government Affairs to help lead AMD interests in China. This role will interact heavily with AMD senior executives worldwide, government officials and industry executives. It will include working with our Corporate Vice President of International Government Affairs and Corporate Responsibility to develop and execute our strategy and positions.  

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, skilled relationship builder and communicator across diverse internal and external audiences, and an inspirational people manager.  Collaboration is critical to success in this role.  This individual should possess a high level of integrity, be self-driven and able to effectively manage complex situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze and advise on our company’s interests affected by government-related policies, programs and relationships
• Develop and lead implementation of government and public affairs strategy and tactical plans to advance our company’s priorities
• Contribute to development and implementation of relevant public policies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Develop and present briefings to senior AMD executives
• Lead and cultivate skills of employees active in government affairs and corporate responsibility
• Represent AMD with public officials, customers, industry bodies and other external audiences
• Foster AMD executive relationships with stakeholders
• Serve on global cross-functional teams that develop, implement and achieve strategic corporate initiatives
• Comply with the highest professional and ethical standards, as well as compliance with applicable laws and corporate policies

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

• Role reports to Corporate Vice President for International Government Affairs and Corporate Responsibility based in Texas

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Significant experience and relationships with key government bodies and advisors, and other relevant organizations
• Demonstrated track record of positive collaboration while building strategic relationships
• Successful track record in leading and cultivating the professional skills of team members
• Experience in negotiation and advocacy
• Employment experience in the technology industry
• Employment experience with a multi-national company
