The Opportunity

As Program Management Director you will have ownership of the planning and execution of multiple customer projects for one of our key Data Center GPU customers at AMD. As a key part of the account team, you are responsible for enabling the value of products through creating the right crew to improve the customer interface and drive solutions. You wear the hat of both a technical program manager and a customer program manager in this unique role. You will report to the Senior Director of Customer Engineering in our Radeon team. In this role you will draw on your knowledge of heterogenous computing for data center (HW/SW) and your strong interpersonal skills to create bridge between the customer and the product solution.

You will take ownership and contribute in many ways including these areas:

  • Developing and maintaining deep relationships with technical, execution, and business owners at the customer
  • Working closely with customers to understand the workloads and requirements
  • Establishing a clear understanding of customer needs for Cloud machine learning and align the AMD product offering and customer expectations to drive customer success
  • Providing a clear customer voice to engineering teams and from the engineering teams to the customer
  • Actively managing programs to a successful outcome for the customer and AMD
  • Working with the AMD Product Management team to develop a product/feature lifecycle from early project planning though to customer delivery, across multiple generations of engagement

Experience & Education

  • Demonstrated project and/or program management expertise developing complex system products (HW and SW)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational level and to launch new products successfully in the marketplace
  • Experience working with external client teams
  • Experience making technical and business tradeoffs for the benefit of the customer and the company

The Person

Ideally you bring the following experience and attributes to our team:

  • Strong project management skills, PMP desirable
  • Proven track record of creativity and innovation
  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of Data Centers or Servers or GPU
  • Exposure with cloud-based technologies desirable

Education

  • Technical undergraduate degree plus at least 10 years of progressive experience in a variety of engineering, program management, or business management functions
  • MBA or Graduate Engineering Degree desired
