THE ROLE:

We are currently looking for software engineers in Bellevue, Washington as part of a new DirectX/Direct3D driver development team targeting support for AMD GPUs. The engineers will be involved in the development, debug, bring-up, and performance tuning of graphics hardware running on Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. The position will involve collaborating with other AMD software/hardware teams and Microsoft Windows OS architecture teams.

This new team is essential to the success of AMD as a growing company. It is a very fast paced environment where you will be working with the very best in our technology and some of the most exciting projects the industry has to offer.

The person:

The ability to interact directly with and debug low level hardware and operating system functionality is required. The individual will be a member of a team where communication and team skills are highly valued.

Key responsibilities:

  • Root cause and address DX12 driver quality issues, focusing on Microsoft Certification and Telemetry reported issues
  • Early development and experiments for new DX12 features proposed by Microsoft
  • Triage of quality and performance issues caused by new Windows10 Operating System drops
  • Work with remote teams to improve in-house tools and development processes.

Preferred experience:

  • C and C++ programming experience
  • Working knowledge of Computer Architecture and Windows Operating Systems
  • D3D, OpenGL, or other graphics application knowledge and experience
  • Exposure to low level programming, D3D or Windows drivers is desirable

Academic credentials:

  • Preferred BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study
