What you do at AMD changes everything

At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible.  We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.

Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile” to achieve unthinkable results.  It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world.   If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.

The position

The Infinity Fabric team is looking for a recent college graduate to fill an entry level pre-silicon design verification engineer position. In this role, you will help ensure the functional quality of Infinity Fabric design, and improve the verification environment and methodology to support new types of AMD products.

Design verification engineers are responsible for developing test cases, bus functional models and functional checks using object-oriented SystemVerilog and the UVM verification library. Team members also document and execute test plans consisting of new tests, functional checks and coverage. The goal is to find functional bugs in design components before those components are delivered into the larger system and eventually sent to manufacturing.

The team is based in Boxboro MA, and collaborates with teams across the globe. Engineers interact with architects, RTL designers, design verification engineers, performance engineers, and post-silicon validation engineers and have opportunities to develop deep expertise in parts of the Infinity Fabric architecture and ASIC design methodology.

The Person

Ideally you bring the following qualifications to our team:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with a focus on computer architecture

  • Have exposure to using Verilog, SystemVerilog, and UVM via coursework or preferably internship or other work experience.
  • Have a strong background in computer architecture and object-oriented software development.
  • Scripting in languages such as Perl, Python or Ruby.

  • Be comfortable interacting with a diverse set of colleagues, and across different geographies
  • Self-motivated to solve problems, and proactive to get help when needed.
  • Good communication skills

AMD employees who will be working onsite at an AMD US facility, are encouraged to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon their start date. This is for the safety of our employees, and to permit AMD to be prepared in the event the stay on Executive Order 14042: Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors is lifted.
