As a member of the Semi-Custom Business Unit within AMD, your execution will help bring to life customers’ special requirements for designs to be used in a broad range of products, from mobile devices to gaming consoles and more.

 

As a passionate and dedicated lead as the SCBU mobile Power Architect, you will collaborate in next-generation products for some of AMD's most important clients. You will lead mobile power System on Chip and IP architecture development, modeling and analysis and deployment for Customer-specific markets and workloads. Including developing design of power aspects for the SoC / Firmware / OS / Application.

 

Key Responsibilities

•Develop SoC level power architecture, power management, and states, mobile power related IP features for SoCs, based on AMD SCBU customer-specific requirements.

•Construct a SOC power model within AMD modeling framework that is uniquely tailored for AMD SCBU customer-specific requirements.

•Communicate closely with AMD SCBU Architects and SCBU Customers to understand unique customer market requirements, workloads, and use cases of interest to customer-specific applications.

•Drive teams doing power modeling simulations using RTL netlists for customer specific applications and workloads using AMD’s power modeling environment.

•Work closely with SOC and IP Architects and Power engineers to understand the SOC and IP design architecture, in order to leverage existing IP and create custom solutions to satisfy customer power requirements.

•Analyze power modeling results and use these to drive design teams towards best approaches for reducing power.

 

Education Requirements

•Technical degree with emphasis in Electrical Engineering, Computer architecture, or Computer Science with at least 10 years of relevant experience.

 

Additional Requirements

•Excellent organization, and communication skills.

•Very good understanding of CPU, GPU and computer system architecture.

•Very good understanding of SoC power management, power dissipation, mobile battery life.

•Meticulous attention to details.
