PMTS SoC Design Engineer 

 

  This position can also be located in Austin, TX or Markham, Ontario

The Person:

As a member of the Semi-Custom Business Unit within AMD, your execution will help bring to life customers Special requirements for designs to be used in a broad range of products, from tablets to gaming consoles to servers and more. As a member of the SCBU team, you will be working closely with architecture, IP design, SoC implementation team, Design Verification team and physical design team to achieve first pass silicon success

  • You will work with architects to understand the product specification, clock structure, power management, interconnect and AMD chiplet based infrastructure. 
  • You will translate these knowledge to the SOC integration team for implementation details. 
  • You will write micro architecture and implementation documents for the SoC integration team. 
  • You will interface with IP design team, SoC integration team, Design Verification and Physical design team to analyze and optimize the implementation efficiency and cost. 
  • You will also help scope and analyze new design opportunities. 
  • Actively work to continuously improve SOC development process
  • We are looking for someone who is technically hands on and a great leader.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • BSEE/MSEE Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 15+ years of ASIC development experience including familiarity with the entire ASIC development process and tools
  • Communicates openly and clearly in meetings, presentations, emails, and reports
  • Significant experience with standard ASIC design tools (synthesis, equivalence checking, static timing analysis, DFT, power check tool, Lint, CDC, vcs)
  • Experience with SoC architecture.
  • Experience with RTL coding in Verilog
  • Experience in integrating and compiling complex SOC models with multiple proprietary and third-party IP
  • Experience working with Design Verification teams on functional and performance verification
  • Experience with IP delivery process and methodologies

  • Bachelor's Degree
