What you do at AMD changes everything

At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible.  We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.

Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile” to achieve unthinkable results.  It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world.   If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.

The Role:

You will be part of the RTG (Radeon Technologies Group) graphics driver software engineering team, working closely with the driver development teams on multiple high-performance graphics hardware platforms for AMD's market leading GPU and APU technology. The D3D team is responsible for delivering drivers for multiple supported versions of the DirectX API on the Windows operating system platform for the Radeon family of GPUs. You will test and qualify drivers focusing on validating accurate functionality, identifying and reporting software defects in the driver, analyzing performance, and supporting the debugging and resolution of graphics driver issues.

The Person:

We are looking for a motivated quality engineer with strong expertise in PC hardware and software configuration, PC gaming, and great communication skills. Inside AMD, you will collaborate with partners from different driver component teams to help develop and deliver software drivers for AMD’s GPU/APU products. Together we will ignite the power and potential of AMD's world class GPUs. If you are passionate about software, gaming, and high performance, if you thrive in a fast-paced continuous learning environment and appreciate a challenge, come join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, configure, and support new hardware and software products for testing, demos, and presentations
  • Execute manual and automated driver testing and inventory management
  • Report on daily testing status and results and generate problem reports for issues
  • Improve lab operating efficiency by applying basic skills of troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting test equipment
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of responsibilities and hours; midnight, weekend shift, and extended hours may be required at times

Preferred Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience and ability in configuring and customizing high performance gaming PC hardware and software
  • Extensive experience gaming in Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) environments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of PC hardware architecture, especially in the area of add-in graphics hardware.

Academic Credentials:

Bachelor’s degree preferred, but an Associate’s degree or high school diploma with at least 2 years of work experience is acceptable in lieu of the degree.
