As a member of the Semi-Custom Business Unit within AMD, your execution will help bring to life customers’ special requirements for designs to be used in a broad range of products, from tablets to gaming consoles to servers and more.  As a member of the front-end design/integration team, you will work closely with the architecture, IP design, and Physical Design teams to achieve first pass silicon success.

Primary initial responsible for generation of large APU programming reference. Will utilize AMD tools and flows to generate and review programming reference material and deliver to internal and external teams on project milestone schedule. Work involves significant communication with AMD IP and SOC teams as well as team that supports the custom AMD tools and flows.

Also, as part of the SOC design team you will have technical responsibility for SOC design and integration efforts including AMD and third-party IP integration and SOC level design. You will work closely with IP development teams and SOC design and verification teams. Many unique challenges will be presented including AMD proprietary model build flow, top-level RTL development including connectivity and chip functions such as clocking, reset, and IO. This job opportunity is available in the Boston  Design Center, located in Boxborough, MA.

• Involves assuming the consultative or leadership responsibilities for large projects or product development initiatives
• Is required to deal with internal and external groups on behalf of the group or project
• Has accountability for results for a whole product or large project, as well as for management of interdependencies with related areas


  • BS + 6 years or
  • MS + 4 years or
  • Understanding logic design, software and hardware principles and methods relevant to more complex systems and platforms
  • Verilog RTL
  • Strong organization and multitasking, as well as problem solving and analytical skills are a must
  • Must be a self-starter and able to independently drive tasks to completion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Other general SOC/ASIC design skills and experience 

• Work is generally performed with little supervision
• Latitude exists for setting assignment direction and project objectives within the bounds of broad technical, product and organizational parameters
• Work is reviewed upon completion of predetermined milestones by a manager
