Staff Infinity Fabric Verification Engineer

The Role:

As a Design Verification Engineer on the Infinity Fabric verification team you join a dedicated team whose work has enabled AMD to put multiple SoCs to market in any given year. The ground-breaking Fabric IP verified by this team is flexible and scalable and is part of every new AMD product being developed across Client, Server, Graphics, Semi-Custom and embedded markets. The Person:

We are seeking an experienced functional design verification engineer with exceptional programming skills, System Verilog and UVM experience, proven experience verifying complex design blocks at the IP or SoC level, and knowledge of the design verification cycles. A hunger to learn and improve, excellent communication, and analytical thinking skills are keys to being successful in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

When you join our verification team, you will take ownership and contribute in many ways including these areas:

  • Develop and enhance SystemVerilog / UVM-based scalable testbenches to verify new features for a state-of-the-art industry leading Data Fabric IP for AMD’s CPUs, GPUs and APUs
  • Be part of a team of verification engineers, working closely with other team members, designers, architects and performance engineers to understand and verify the functionality of a given design element within the context of the block, chip and overall system.
  • Tackle carefully documenting and executing test plans consisting of constrained-random and directed tests, new checks and functional coverage
  • Provide technical guidance and innovative ideas to improve quality, processes and productivity
  • Mentor junior engineers

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong background in System Verilog and UVM methodologies and developing UVCs is a must.
  • Architected and developed complex verification environments and infrastructure, including scripting using Perl, Ruby, Make, or similar.
  • Proficient in Object Oriented programming, computer architecture and data structures.
  • Experience with process and methodology improvements to enhance verification quality and productivity
  • Technical leadership and mentoring
  • Development of reusable code used over multiple product generations
  • 10+ years of proven verification experience of complex CPU/ASIC projects, with demonstrated mastery of successful verification from test planning till tapeout

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor, Master’s or PhD degree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer architecture, or Computer Science with a focus on computer architecture
