Silicon Design Verification DevOps Engineer


The Role:

Maintain and improve verification methodology strategy for next generation microprocessor designs. Improve existing infrastructure. Work on related projects and/or assignments as needed, to meet team goals. Perform project definition, training and documentation. Develop quality, timely and efficient solutions independently. Collaborate with architects and TG/PG RTL/Designers. Develop an effective working relationship with parties involved.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide design automation and flow expertise as part of a team performing  Functional Verification of high speed next generation Microprocessor designs. 
  • Architect, implement and support Hardware Design Verification Flows, Infrastructure and Tools 
  • Develop data collection, statistical reporting tools and GUIs where appropriate. 
  • Works with IT to define, project and allocate simulation farm compute requirements, storage requirements and vendor licenses.
  • Works with EDA tool vendors to integrate vendor tools into Verification flows. 
  • Works across sites to enable collaboration.  Deploy tools and flows to multi-site teams.  
  • Evaluate tools and flows for security risks.  


Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in architecting, and implementing and maintaining automated tools and flows in a hardware design context.  
  • Understanding or technical expertise in functional verification of microprocessor designs.
  • Understanding of computer architecture and assembly programming.
  • Scripting experience using any of the following: Perl, Python, Ruby 
  • Working knowledge in C/C++ 
  • Experience in UNIX/Linux including shell scripting 
  • Experience in two or more of the following: 
    • software build/make systems 
    • building & working with distributed regression systems, test launch systems, or batch job systems such as LSF 
    • software release management and qualification systems 
    • hardware simulation environments such as VCS or NC-Verilog 
    • practical knowledge of modern database management systems, relational or non-relational, and front-end web development through the use of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript 
    • revision control systems such as SVN or Perforce 
  • Ability to independently solve tool and flow issues. 
  • Good communication skills.



BS, MS or PhD in CS/EE preferred.
