As a Software Development Intern (f/m/d) in our Cologne office, you will work within our engineering team on building the next generation of tools for the Xilinx technology developers. In order to ensure a meaningful internship experience, your internship should ideally last about 6 months and can start as soon as possible.


We are building a Center of Excellence for Compilers and ML in Cologne and you can become part of our team!

As intern in our team:

  • You will contribute to the development of programming tools for software developers using Xilinx technologies. Several projects are being worked on by different teams, they generally involve advanced technologies such as compilers, AI, performance modeling,... While you will be able to learn and even extend these, you are not expected to have prior experience with these.
  • You will be part of and learn along an experienced and diverse development team. Within your team, your mentor will ensure that you are at ease with your work environment and tasks.
  • You will be responsible for continuous development, debugging and testing of the code you produce. We take code quality seriously.


Desired skills and experience:

  • You are studying towards a Masters’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a related field, having successfully completed your Bachelor
  • You have excellent C++ programming skills
  • Ideally, you have some experience with Python
  • While it is great if you do, you are not expected to have prior experience with FPGAs, HLS, or compilers like LLVM.
  • You are fluent in English
  • You have very good analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities and good communication skills
  • You are a team player, who has a hands-on mentality and a desire to learn
  • You are an EU citizen or possess a valid work permit. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
